Vegetarian, vegan and raw recipes for the tropics

By , February 27, 2012

Tomorrow morning on ABC Far North (on Fiona Sewell’s segment following the 9.30am news) I’ll be announcing the beginning of the journey of my next book in the tropical cuisine series.

Fruits from a tropical home orchard

As the process of recipe testing with truly seasonal ingredients takes a year (at least!), followed then by the writing, editing and publishing processes, it will be a wee time before you see my next cookbook.  However, there will be recipes posted here on my website along the way so that you can have a taste of things to come.

I am inviting fellow cooks of the tropics to submit your vegetarian, vegan or raw food recipes for possible inclusion in the next tropical cuisine cookbook.

To contribute you must live (or have lived) in the tropics or subtropics and grow (or be able to grow) the main ingredient/s at home and/or be able to source them in your region from other local home-gardeners, farmers and fresh produce retailers.  My tropical cuisine cookbooks are about celebrating and sharing knowledge of the uses of tropical produce, so it is important that the produce featured is tropical in origin.

If you are interested in knowing more, please send an email to info[at]tropicalcuisine[dot]com and I will send you the guide.

I look forward to hearing from you!  As this next cookbook will be released, in the first instance, in ebook format there are exciting opportunities for including web links and multimedia material that can make it easier for fellow passionate tropical home cooks and gardeners to find each other and share knowledge about using the vast and delicious range of produce that grows in our part of the world.
